Objectives
At
the end of the lesson, the students will be able to:

identify the elements of Drama;

relate Drama to real life; and
3. acknowledge
the sacrifice done by parents/other family members for the sake of a loved one.

Illustration/Drawing and Audio

III.
Procedure
A.
Motivation
1. The teacher will ask the class, “Have you felt sadness or happiness
during your birthday? Why?”
2. The Teacher will call four (4) volunteers from the class who will do
the Face Dance.
B.
Presentation of the lesson
The teacher will present the elements of Drama (Plot,
Character, Dialogue, Theme, and Staging)
1. Activities
1.1 Video Play!: The teacher will let the students watch
a video about the drama, “I Shall Have Other Birthdays”
1.2 Pick it out!: The teacher will divide
the class into two (Protagonist and Antagonist). The students will be asked
questions about the elements of drama in “I Shall Have Other Birthdays”. The first
group to raise the flag will have the chance to answer the question. They will
pick the answers from the choices on the PowerPoint presentation.
1.3 Value focus: Ask the class to think
of an instance wherein they have witnessed their parents/other family members
making a sacrifice for the sake of a loved one and ask them to share it in
class.
2.
Analysis
2.1 The teacher will guide the students in analyzing the elements
ofDrama (Plot, Character, Dialogue, Theme, and Staging) through the Diorama.
2.2 Mirror, mirror!:The teacher will ask the students to answer the Essential Question,
“How does Drama reflect real life?” while facing the mirror.

Abstraction
As summary of the lesson, the teacher
will ask the students, “How will you identify that a particular literary piece
is a Drama?”

Application
Jovial or Lonesome?:The teacher will present two (2) faces of drama. The teacher will
read statements about drama. The students will fall in line in front of the
happy face if the statement is correct and in front of the sad face if the
statement is false. Those who will commit wrong answers will be eliminated.

Speeches assigned to the characters are called “cue lines”.

Drama sometimes end in

The central idea of the

IV. Evaluation
Let the
students answer the question as reflected in the PowerPoint Presentation:

3. It consists of the resolution, rising action, climax, falling action

B. In your opinion, what do you
think is the significance of Drama in man’s life?
V. Assignment
Divide the
class into four (4) groups. Assign each
group to prepare a one-scene drama presentation depicting self-sacrifice done
by family members as proof of their love to their family. Instruct the learners
to apply the elements of Drama.
