PAINTful day at the City of Whales

Dinagsa Festival has been one of my much loved Festivals in Negros and every year, my experience becomes more colorful and happier than the previous ones. People from and outside the province visit the City of Whales every year to witness a one of a kind experience, Cadiz City has to offer.
The festival is an honor to the locals’ patron saint for a colorful year and bountiful blessings that showered the city. The celebration takes place every 29th of January annually.
You may wonder why the city is called “City of Whales”?
Well, back in year 2000’s, numerous number of whales visited the waters of the city. The term “Dinagsa” is a Hiligaynon term for “coming together”.
Until now, the celebration makes the people come and visit the city, making them chase each other, putting paints in their faces and having merry-making on the streets.
This year’ Dinagsa Festival is one of the best Philippine festival experiences I have. Together with some friends, I partied and danced to the beat, putting some spectrum of pigments on others’ faces and I made my Dinagsa experience this year a paintful one.
